Dear lazyweb,

Er, no.

Does anyone here know who to talk to for a "single bill" buisiness phone/internet solution. Not business DSL with a single VoIP account, I need more then that.

My ideal would be:

  • At least 2 lines/calls, 10/100 numbers on ISDN, SIP or IAX only; strictly not POTS (I work on phone systems as my day job[1], I really do need multiple lines for a single person)

  • Internet at least 512k/512k (Don't need the matched speeds, but do need a decent uplink)

  • Next business day SLA is fine

  • 25Gb+ down needed - An "off-peak" split that totals that would also be OK

  • Uncharged access to free software (ie, debian) mirrors is useful, Aarnet or Planetmirror is fine

  • If the phone service is VoIP it must not be charged data and must have ISP-side QoS

  • A subnet would be nice, but not needed (Even a static IP isn't needed)

  • Port blocking is really frowned upon but tolerated, as long as you admit to it, unlike my current ISP[2]

  • Tech support that respond to "Your router X is dropping my packets, fix it!" with something useful[2]

  • Melbourne metro (ok, SE suburbs, Wheelers Hill exchange) area

  • An ability to bundle UMTS or other mobile data would be nice, but not needed

If anyone can help please leave a comment or get in touch.

[1] A small plug for my new day job at Asterisk IT where I've already worked on systems from a dozen phones up to several hundred around the country and written custom least-cost routing & priority queuing systems among other things.

[2] My current ISP (who shall remain unnamed) has been fairly good to me, but they do have two issues, first between my two accounts (2001-2002 and 2004-now) their customer service went rather down the drain, and they started blocking EVERYTHING below port 1024 and didn't admit to it.
